Jim began his legal career as a Captain in the United States Army JAG Corps. In his five years on active duty, he served as prosecutor and defense counsel in courts martial, gaining extensive experience in trial practice, as well as in the defense of the United States in claims asserted against it. He left active duty to join FGKS Law and has been engaged in civil trial practice ever since. Jim represents clients in state and federal courts across Ohio, both trial and appellate. He is particularly familiar with the bench and bar in courts in west central Ohio and regularly serves as lead or co-counsel in those courts. He has tried over 100 jury trials.
Jim appears on behalf of both plaintiffs and defendants in nearly equal measure. His practice areas include commercial, injury, insurance, probate, and employment litigation. He is admitted to practice for Ohio and Indiana, the United States District Courts in the Northern and Southern Districts of Ohio and the Northern District of Indiana, and the United States Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals.
